Convenience Fee Perimeter Bicycling created its own online registration to assure a completely in-house system, enabling us to make fine tuned adjustments as needed. Currently, Perimeter Bicycling charges an $8.00 convenience fee each time an individual registers for an event online. (Technically, a convenience fee is assessed each time a payment is made using the online option.)Perimeter Bicycling would prefer not to charge a convenience fee for online registrations [thereby encouraging its use], however it incurs costs in providing this much-requested option, including production and maintenance of the online system and credit card, transaction, bank, and webmaster fees. Perimeter Bicycling hopes that the $8.00 fee covers these costs, as this program remains in its infancy and we continue to learn during its implementation. We have every reason to offer online at minimal cost as it makes our registration process that much more efficient, paper-saving and accurate. Cyclists will note that our online convenience fee is indicated separately from actual rider event fees. While we could "build in" this fee to our rider fees as many other events do, we opted to separate this cost for participants’ clarification. |
